Questions

Michael Flotron
(5:23) Hello from Portland, OR!

Michael Fair
(5:40) Happy Canada day and 4th of July to those in Canada and the US

Dansplaining Video
(18:20)

Eric Likness
(18:35) I will say, for the fancy bike ride, the stream never cut out completely. So bonding was working. Totally.

Michael Flotron
(18:39) It wasn't even full bonding. Just tweaked TCP settings from the Yolobox vpn

Clear Life Media
(18:51) Q: I’ve tried everything to get my new hyperdeck and duo scope to work with companion. Nothing fires like it’s supposed to. Any suggestions?

Clear Life Media
(20:14) Yes I see the okay. But no buttons fire when I press them

Bhavjot Singh
(21:07) Q: I'm getting a weird buzzing sound on my ATEM Mini Pro using my line level audio input from a professional Amp mixer. I've tried switching cables but no luck with that. There's also a 4 seconds dela

Bhavjot Singh
(21:17) delay in audio.

Bhavjot Singh
(21:20) Q: I'm getting a weird buzzing sound on my ATEM Mini Pro using my line level audio input from a professional Amp mixer. I've tried switching cables but no luck with that. There's also a 4 seconds dela

Clear Life Media
(22:56) Yeah version 3

Michael Flotron
(23:12) Version 3 has some dramatic changes especially with the button status. Definitely give yourself some time to adapt

Bhavjot Singh
(23:43) the ground loop isolator is compressing the sound too much (live church setup so sound is kinda important)

Randy Dees
(24:05) @Bhavjot Singh a Radial ISO will transformer isolate and will convert a professional mixer output to match the ATEM line level, plus change balanced to unbalanced.

Arne Borgersen
(24:22) Do you thing BMD will update the ATEM SC with better streaming and recording sections? Would fix the low bitrate recording with multiple computers connected to switcher..

Scott Jarriel
(25:52) Normally, a ground loop isolator is just a transformer.

Zegalles
(26:00) @aaronparecki how can i change atem to accept balanced audio?

WutrUduin?
(26:11) @Zegalles None of the Minis accept balanced audio. The bigger ones with XLR do.

Nils Braune
(30:58) Wrong frame rate.

Nils Braune
(31:00) An ATEM Mini Pro.

Nils Braune
(31:14) Before that it goes to a VPS. And a DASH stream comes back.

WutrUduin?
(34:54) Of course we want edge case experimentation!

TVJAY
(37:25) will it accept none ATEM based streams?

WutrUduin?
(37:35) @TVJAY BlackMagic says it won't. But like the streaming Bridge, I'm sure someone will find a way,

Michael Flotron
(37:49) This is still RTMP technically, right?

WutrUduin?
(38:51) Q: The stream has to at least hit the switch it's connected to before coming back in, no?

Andrew Waldman
(40:20) Q Does it stream audio as well via rtmp?

Clear Life Media
(41:44) Q: If you do a streaming bridge from any stream would it work as well? So really it could take any device, camera, etc if you add a streaming bridge?

TVJAY
(43:46) ATEM does not follow standards based RTMP. I discovered this when I hacked OBS to work with the streaming bridge. To bad I tore down my test machine.

Michael Flotron
(51:47) I use that Magewell for receiving remote SRT streams and it's solid AF.

WutrUduin?
(51:59) Q What's going into the DDMall?

Hans Winzell
(53:20) Your network is running out of bits and bytes. :)

Arne Borgersen
(58:23) It is not possible to access the internal hard drive on the HD8 with USB-C, right? It's only possible to access the hard drive via network? This is something BMD decided when designing it?

WutrUduin?
(58:57) Reboot Magewell?

Alex Hardy
(1:01:01) Q iPadOS 17 has got WebCam Support

Eric Likness
(1:04:24) An ATEM usb out into iOS sounds interesting.

Alex Hardy
(1:04:26) I’ve got atem mini pro so be fun to try out

The Logician
(1:04:40) Q: Suggestions for hardware boxes for receiving remote streams without need for web based services to feed into OBS either as a direct encoder plugged into computer or HDMI out to cam link pro?

The Logician
(1:05:30) Q: Suggestions for hardware boxes for receiving remote streams without need for web based services to feed into OBS either as a direct encoder plugged into computer or HDMI out to cam link pro?

The Logician
(1:06:11) To clarify instead of getting a remote guest via a service like melon, use a hardware box to feed into OBS

The Logician
(1:08:44) Yes Streamyard is another web service that can do it, but there are limits to number of guests....

The Logician
(1:08:58) Idea is to not use Web services at all.... Direct stream from a remote guest to your hardware box as say an RTMP receiver from the web direct then feed into obs

Arne Borgersen
(1:10:48) On the HD8: The transition type button marked ARM are currently disabled and will be enabled in a future update. Any suggestions what is will do?

MT Steuerung
(1:13:28) Q - will a Magewell RTMP reciver to NDI work? so get the Guest in without a external Capturecard

The Logician
(1:13:48) Thanks for the work you do.

Eric Likness
(1:15:29) OMG! Yes it's that time. July 2nd, first Sunday.

Koala20
(1:16:58) I like the socks

MT Steuerung
(1:17:20) @Eric Likness .. and suddenly half a Year is gone ..

Arne Borgersen
(1:17:32) Good suggestion! The user manual literally says: «The button marked ARM is currently disabled and will be enabled in a future update.» 😛 Exciting times ahead 🚀

TVJAY
(1:17:48) The only time I have heard "arm" mentioned when using a switcher (at the professional level) was when doing multiple outputs using one switcher so you can arm a transition for both show outputs.

The Logician
(1:18:19) Love the T-shirt... I find your lack of camera angles disturbing. Arrived in the mail this week,

Eric Likness
(1:18:41) Based on what Arne described ARM sounds like the new vers. Stinger button for HD8 ISO 😆

TVJAY
(1:18:52) Q: You might of discussed this, but is there any way to do mix-minus in the HD8?

SigawNa
(1:19:50)

The Logician
(1:20:32) That shirt will be making an appearane at the film workshop that I will be attending in Norway in August.

The Logician
(1:21:58) Missed it by that much...

Thomas Cantrell
(1:22:01) The TVS Pro 4K mix-minus would work for video calls, due to the implementation. But Constellation-style mix minus is basically useless for that. Depends which one they did.

TVJAY
(1:22:50) Bigger switchers have multiple MEs that are essentially hidden . You chose them, make a setting change, and then switch to a different one. I think ARMing is used to link to the hidden one.

TVJAY
(1:23:01) I think the Super Bowl is done with 9 MEs but only 3 physical button rows

Bill Mew
(1:23:09) Q: I am keen to know what chance you think there is of a firmware update at some point to the HD8 to add 2110 IP - as BMD appear keen on it?

The Logician
(1:23:58) q: Are your atem stands available as digitial downloads for geeks like me that have a 3D printer?

Pancho Hernández
(1:25:30) How can I send audio from the mixer via MADI and add mor channels?

Arne Borgersen
(1:27:12) Have to go! Great live show! As someone who recently got the HD8 at work, these live demos are perfect 😁👌 Peace out from Norway ✌🏼🇳🇴

Thomas Cantrell
(1:27:24) HD8: how does the return audio work?

Thomas Cantrell
(1:27:29) …Like a streaming bridge, could you send a mix-minus program back to the camera/web presenter?

Koala20
(1:29:28) oh, the yolobox pro is on sale again for $999

Eric Likness
(1:30:14) Don't drone and ride.
