Questions

Sven Lakemeier
(6:38) there he is

Andre Yanco
(8:12) You need more coffee Aaron :)

Lee's Boring Life
(8:16) I saw you made an appearance in the chat for the yolobox livestream this past week

IT Never Gets Old
(9:27) It is so great that the ProCoverts are POE

Gwen Park
(11:56) Return of the cat cam!

MattWRuff
(11:58) NOT a fan of cat but hey look at my last name what do you expect!

Michael Flotron
(12:41) Q Have you ever had a Blackmagic product just die on you? I had an UltraStudio Recorder 3G die on me last weekend. I'm baffled haha

IT Never Gets Old
(14:33) KittenSource (trademark that)

Thato Ngwenya
(15:51) Hi, from South Africa. Can I output my Atem Mini HDMI to YOLO Box mini HDMI input and stream from the YOLO Box?

BPG
(17:19) Hey Aaron, great to see you. How are you doing today.

Chris W
(18:52) Q: have you ever tried any of the feelworld ptz cameras?

Gwen Park
(20:10) CR-N300, CR-N500

IT Never Gets Old
(20:18) Q: Do you still have the weather ticker thing available?

AlonzoJT
(21:14) There's CR-N100 now which is the same as the n300 without SDI(and freeD protocol)

Robert Linkroum
(21:25) FYI, some Canon cameras do not source through the YoloBox switchers without some tweaking.

IT Never Gets Old
(21:34) David's slow pans on the PTZs are amazing

MattWRuff
(21:43) @Aaron Parecki I'm look at the tail air but I have to spend $850 to get it configured for the YoloBox I not sure it's worth it

MattWRuff
(22:47) I will need SDI and remote and Ethernet

C Byrd
(23:38) Q: How do you compare the mevo vs the new mevo core... Is it work the extra cost and lens cost

Michael Flotron
(24:27) It's offensive that they bundle this new Mevo with the old ones haha

Gwen Park
(25:19) Q: curious if there are any IP video solutions, protocols, etc. that are low enough latency for IMAG to an HDMI projector?

IT Never Gets Old
(27:44) Wired full NDI on a good LAN is pretty amazing

BPG
(27:58) Q: Hey Aaron, what 4G LTE modem would you recommend for use with the Yolobox Ultra? I'm thinking Nighthawk M1 but I've seen some negative feedback which worries me a little.

Gwen Park
(28:54) he say "stop with your product launches" just before NAB. lol

CircuitBaker
(29:49) Gl.inet and Teltonika make great 4G and 5G router options.

Andre Yanco
(29:57) Q: I have a feeling that YoloLiv needs to come up with a better payment method for enabling the NDI support. Perhaps like vouchers that Obsbot provides?

Gwen Park
(30:17) Clip is OBSbot version of sting button

Noel Del Pilar
(30:41) Q: If I want three OBSBOT Tail Air cameras with NDI and want NDI for the YoloBox Ultra, do I need to pay for four(4) NDI License Key? About $400. ?

Jens Willmroth
(31:10) Nighthawk M1 has been pretty stable for me, but it totally depends on the provider. I connect it to the ATEM Mini Extreme via USB and switch WIFI off.

Michael Flotron
(31:32) Most of Gl.inet's hotspots only use LTE CAT4 or 6 which I wouldn't recommend for video streaming. Although their routers are very featureful just take a closer look at that.

Cameron Prymak
(31:44) Q: a little off topic: are there camcorders with good sensors that could work for non-tech users in Teams meetings/multi-hour training sessions as an instructor? They're made for video...

Gwen Park
(32:34) @Cameron Prymak Canon XA-70/75 and Canon XF605 have 1 inch sensors and can be set to full auto for non tech users. I imagine other brands have similar.

WutrUduin?
(32:47) If you want a peek into a full NDI setup, Churchfront recently toured one. Video title starts with "The Ultimate Audio and Video over IP setup"

MattWRuff
(32:58) Oh I forgot about the YoloBox needing NDI as well so Now I'm up to 950... this is going down hill fast

Feng Zhu
(33:23) Demo of the web control and App control on YoloBox Ultra? Haha!

MT Steuerung
(34:05) đź‘Ťđź‘Ť .. don't forget to hit the Like Button .. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť

Feng Zhu
(34:09) How long does it take to be natural in live streaming? How do you get to the habit of looking at the camera for eye contact with audience?

Jesse Hernandez
(35:34) Good morning from Redlands ca

Michael Flotron
(39:18) ONT is my preferred SoCal airport 1,000% haha

WutrUduin?
(39:23) Q wow. Both lefts are close to looking right at us.

MattWRuff
(39:54) Way to many creator ignore Camcorders because all they know is mirrorless @Gwen Park - being a consultant I had time with kids who think Camcorder are outdated!

IT Never Gets Old
(40:15) Frank, when I use the Yolobox I most definitely use the Output in front of me rather than looking down at the Yolobox internal screen

Graham Rule
(40:38) Q: Do you stream to YouTube with RTMPS? My work network has problems with VBR and users seeing buffering unless I use RTMP. Tested with two ATEM Minis.

Feng Zhu
(46:23) How long does it take to be natural in live streaming? How do you get to the habit of looking at the camera for eye contact with audience?

MattWRuff
(47:08) @Feng Zhu it takes a while, look at anyone old feeds and you can see improvement over time!

Feng Zhu
(47:23) I have to go to sleep now. Can you ask your audience about their thoughts and feedback about our new camera AlphaCam?

Feng Zhu
(47:30) You can also show them the comparison table

Gwen Park
(49:40) @MattWRuff totally. i get a lot of "why?" from pros who don't do live when i tell them i use a camcorder. takes folks a minute to realize live is a slightly different beast.

MrStyle Jam
(49:57) Want to shoot cooking videos & livestreams as well as occasional talking head videos. Can I use a couple Mevo Cores? Is the 4K recording quality good enough compared with dedicated dslr cameras?

MrStyle Jam
(52:14) I just love the Mevo Multicam software and it’s so easy to use. Guess I’m trying to talk myself into buying the cores.

Michael Flotron
(52:29) To be fair, the word "camcorder" does still give "vhs recorder on your shoulder" vibes haha. Coming from a camcorder user.

Raul Espinosa
(52:46) Camcorder are awsome, it's great for conferences, everything is in focus...

MattWRuff
(52:51) @Feng Zhu - don't need a camera I need guest to work right!

Feng Zhu
(52:56) Mix minus? It’s coming very soon.

MattWRuff
(53:03) @Aaron Parecki frustrated that YoLo is busy with a camera when they got so much work to get there firmware fixed. When software is 1.8 it should be out of beta

Feng Zhu
(53:26) Camera is a separate team.

MattWRuff
(55:25) @Aaron do you want a video or just text?

Mark Redder
(55:40) Q: Can the yolobox ultra receive more than one NDI input stream at a time?

Noel Del Pilar
(57:37) DSLR are better for me for weddings, fot the cinematic look! 🙂 Blurry backgrounds.

Gwen Park
(57:51) A lot of software doesn't really work well with Mac spaces unfortunately. I suspect it's not a popular enough feature

Marc Thiele
(57:56) Hello đź‘‹

Cameron Prymak
(58:06) @Feng Zhu - for me it's about simplicity. Watched a Black Magic video on their new studio cam; too complicated. I understand their ecosystem is important but simplicity is my #1 need.

Michael Flotron
(58:27) Speaking of camcorders, fingers crossed for me please as I await insurance decision on a claim for accidental damage on my $3,500 camcorder lol

Graham Rule
(58:52) I just remembered that I have my dad's old VHS recorder in a cupboard. Wonder if it has a clean feed....

MattWRuff
(59:23) Q: Anyone know a source for the ATEM power plug with a switch. The ones I used to buy or out of stock

MrStyle Jam
(59:38) Never used Mevo cameras, but used Mevo multi-cam app on a couple iPhones with my iPad mini as the controller. It makes streaming and recording fun!

MattWRuff
(1:01:10) @Aaron Parecki it fixed a few things but breaks some things FYI 1.8.2

MattWRuff
(1:01:21) @Aaron Parecki Blackmagic Camera menu are better than most...

Noel Del Pilar
(1:01:40) 1.8.2 in particular does not need to reboot. If is just software update, not firmware update.

MrStyle Jam
(1:01:48) Bought the Mevo start 3 pack around Christmas but returned, w/o opening it, because I felt an update was just on the horizon. Love the cores but building up the courage to drop $2300 on a pair!

Grant CrawCour
(1:02:22) Q: Can you put a Chroma camera'd with background into the Supersourse on the ATEM Extreme

Grant CrawCour
(1:04:46) Thanks, makes sense then

Michael Flotron
(1:04:58) I got the Mevo Start free back in the day when Vimeo gave it as a freebie for their Premium plan haha

Grant CrawCour
(1:05:07) The bigger ME's are more expensive especially in South Africa

Andre Yanco
(1:07:25) Q:How about doing on the preview and then put that in as a video source?

Andre Yanco
(1:11:29) Q: Up to three on the YoloBox Ultra I believe

C Byrd
(1:12:24) Q: what is your yolobox software version ? 1.8.2?

Paris Musa Umaña
(1:12:32) Hello from Colombia

Adam Tow
(1:13:21) Or get multiple ATEM mini and use them for chroma keying, then plug SDI/HDMI out into your SuperSource-enabled ATEM.

Dansplaining Video
(1:13:51) Chormakey on Preview, Preview to HDMI Out 2, wire HDMI Out 2 to HDMI in 8

BeatProcess
(1:14:13) ??? i need 3 way split screen like slingstudio does. does any low budget device do split screen? i need 3 hdmi split screen on output. like slingstudio

BeatProcess
(1:14:30) should i just use obs to a cheap laptop to get 3 cam split? with hdmi to usb adapters?

Andre Yanco
(1:17:06) Q:Marry the 3-cam Tail Air Kit with the Yolobox Ultra. That is a nice little setup for a small studio implementation.

MT Steuerung
(1:17:38) Q - maybe the wireless NDI Cam is under the Weather

Christian Hochfilzer
(1:17:53) If one wanted to create a an animated PowerPoint presentation with a green slide as a placeholder then output this via HDMI to the Atem/Yolo could one use this solution to create simple transitions?

Christian Hochfilzer
(1:22:22) If one wanted to create a an animated PowerPoint presentation with a green slide as a placeholder then output this via HDMI to the Atem/Yolo could one use this solution to create simple transitions?

Christian Hochfilzer
(1:22:46) I’m guessing one can’t do a fade transition

Christian Hochfilzer
(1:22:48) I’m guessing one can’t do a fade transition

Michael Flotron
(1:23:11) Anything more than 2 cameras I always go hardware switcher. It's too finicky otherwise, especially for a mobile setup.

MT Steuerung
(1:23:20) Q - when you use multiple ATEM Mini you lost the direct Cam source .. insted of the Ultimate that can loop thru the Cam .. I guess

Michael Flotron
(1:23:39) External Thunderbolt PCIe enclosure with an elgato cam link pro (4 inputs) is honestly pretty cheap and going to be more stable than USB hubs

Christian Hochfilzer
(1:28:02) If one wanted to create a an animated PowerPoint presentation with a green slide as a placeholder then output this via HDMI to the Atem/Yolo could one use this solution to create simple transitions?

WutrUduin?
(1:28:22) Now map that to the stinger button!

MattWRuff
(1:28:25) @Aaron Parecki slow it down and that would be good for when you change desk

Andre Yanco
(1:29:43) That is a nice trick :)

Clear Life Media
(1:29:58) Q: any good video playback software that is reliable. Looked at mplay but it’s 2k. We use vlc now but it doesn’t do everything we need it to do.

Graham Rule
(1:31:03) Looks like the camera switch and transition could be automated in Companion

MattWRuff
(1:31:24) @Aaron Parecki You need to edit all these trick into a video call NEAT trick! since you need more things for your To-Do List

Raul Espinosa
(1:32:08) that trick is so cooool!!

Sound ace
(1:32:12) how do I connect Laptop which will be on Zoom to my Atem Mini and how to show it locally on a TV screen > I have connected Zoom Laptop in Atem input 1 , 1 C type to USB to Laptop to capture , PTZ came

Marlon
(1:34:24) hey, you know the sony rx0? I plan to buy it soon. Is it a good choice for my homestudio? Especially in low light situations

Antonio Anacan
(1:35:22) what was the name of the ipad video playback app aaron mentioned?

IT Never Gets Old
(1:36:08) Q: We see your prototype studio layout on the IPad, if you build the conversation area, will you eliminate the demo table?

Eric Likness
(1:39:37) I remember the studio you set up in, was it Seattle, that was a nice size layout for the twofer chairs layout.

Andre Yanco
(1:39:46) Q:Looks like the rack needs to go even to another corner, if your focus is on the seating area.

MT Steuerung
(1:40:09) Q - will you use a Ultimatte to get rid of the 'clutter' ??

IT Never Gets Old
(1:40:24) Q: You could add a third table and make it a horseshoe with the rack behind

iDJMic
(1:43:06) Run cables through PVC pipe and get creative.

MattWRuff
(1:43:17) My problem is I'm at a console desk which as a desk is GREAT but not much area to as a desk area, If I was serious about Livestream I would lose my console desk. Time will tell

Raul Espinosa
(1:43:39) Paint the rack green and disappear ti...

MattWRuff
(1:43:46) Put the rack between the chairs?

Upper Canada Musicians Association
(1:43:58) Q: Have you had the same issues that D. Johnson was having (in his recent YT Post) with the HDMI out of the Mac Silicons. Apparently he’s using little dongles to get his Mac to play nice with Atems.

Andre Yanco
(1:44:48) Q:How about making the desk longer?

Andre Yanco
(1:44:49) Q:No L but a longer desk

Andre Yanco
(1:45:23) Q Actually Doug addressed this.

MattWRuff
(1:45:27) Put a cover over the front of it and (you could cut through the wall so you could get to the back of the rack as that in the garage right?

Eric Likness
(1:45:53) Q: This is a dumb idea, but could the chairs ea. have 1/2 of the rack mounted underneath them? 🤔

Andre Yanco
(1:46:09) Q:Check out his video about M series Macs and HDMI output

iDJMic
(1:46:17) I lined both my walls with those long counter top shelves. Then building an adjustable (up & down) table for the one end for doing videos. But my room is rectangular.

IT Never Gets Old
(1:47:02) Q: Yeah put the chairs on a 3 foot riser

MT Steuerung
(1:47:04) @Eric Likness .. or build a little Podium at the seatin area

iDJMic
(1:47:07) By raising the chairs on a platform you can now hide cables.

Christian Hochfilzer
(1:48:11) Do you have any idea how yolo does the animated countdown timer overlay? I'm specifically interested in the slick alpha transparency they created and how one can do custom elements?

CircuitBaker
(1:48:31) rack in front of the demo desk?

iDJMic
(1:48:43) Build a fake wall that is a closet you can go behind where cables are clean in the back.

iDJMic
(1:48:49) Closet (wall)

Andre Yanco
(1:49:13) Q:Put the rack where the shelves are, and make the desk longer, so you get your rack shot with you console across

iDJMic
(1:49:43) But then fill that wall with shelving for devices. It’s can then be your background.

MT Steuerung
(1:49:58) @Eric Likness .. or use 'High Chairs' and a small Countertop table like PTZ Optics uses for Demos

culturevaani
(1:50:03) Put a green screen and use an AI generated wallpaper :P

Raul Espinosa
(1:50:25) Do the star wars trick, take a photo of the rack and then make a paint of it, with enough boca nobody will notice is a photo...

IT Never Gets Old
(1:50:41) Live studio design consultation (or kibbitzing... sorry I started this)

iDJMic
(1:50:44) Hire a professional team to just come in and do it, tell them your goals and walk away. Now someone else’s problem.

MT Steuerung
(1:52:46) Q - insted of a Photo take a Portrait Video of the Rack and when you use Greenscreen you can key it in .. same with the Shelf ..

culturevaani
(1:52:57) Q:- How to mask a camera(presenter) over PPT(Coming via NDI), any easy way to do that with OBS or ATEM?

culturevaani
(1:54:09) Q:- Mask in an oval/circular shape

Andre Yanco
(1:55:35) Q:We are giving Aaron the more reason to buy that Ultimatte

ThePixelMint
(1:55:47) Q Sorry for off topic question, if I have a Blackmagic studio camera 4k pro, can I record it in 4k on a hyperdeck and feed it on to a HD Blackmagic constellation?

Andre Yanco
(1:56:43) @IT Never Gets Old Oh Helga will be the first podcast interviewee :)

Raul Espinosa
(1:57:04) Q: what do you think about the blackmagic design micro studio camera 4k g2?

iDJMic
(1:59:35) Q: Has anything new been released that you knew about before release?

Christian Hochfilzer
(2:00:26) What’s your opinion of the $150 ZowieBox (the 4K NDI encoder/decoder)?

Bicky Bickford
(2:01:05) Share it now we won't say anything LOL

Gwen Park
(2:01:12) @Eric Likness if he does New Year's layout, does that mean he always has to wear the New Year's jacket? lol

Lee's Boring Life
(2:01:16) I did a micro 4k G2 question earlier

culturevaani
(2:01:41) Zowiebox is great device and support has been great as well.

Christian Hochfilzer
(2:01:52) What’s your opinion of the $150 ZowieBox (the 4K NDI encoder/decoder). It seems it can stream 4K30 AND record this quality locally

Eric Likness
(2:03:18) Maybe there's an A.I. that can optimize the space and design it with all 1 Trillion parameters âť“

IT Never Gets Old
(2:03:26) I really think a podcast set loft would work... higher than the rack height

MT Steuerung
(2:03:38) Q - if the Chaos Router is finished will you build your own NDI decoder with a RasPi ??

Stop & Think
(2:03:54) When is NAB?

MT Steuerung
(2:03:57) @Stop & Think .. April 13-17

Sven Lakemeier
(2:06:32) why not post a package to the hotel where you stay during the trade fair?

Eric Likness
(2:06:47) 1.cam person 2.PhotoJoseph 3.AaronPK 4. one recording rig 5.Remote Editor, sounds like another killer NAB

Gwen Park
(2:07:10) Q: Do you know about set.a.light? It might help you visualize room layouts and shots, but way easier to learn than Unreal (not meant for that, but might work?)

Mark Redder
(2:07:46) Move your rack to another room, and put a camera on it there, then key it into your video.

Gwen Park
(2:08:00) It's to figure out shots, but you can place furniture and other props

Raul Espinosa
(2:08:22) Can you do the podcast from your kitchen table? I mean in the kitchen... looks good...

Andre Yanco
(2:09:43) Q:Perhaps the time has come that you really get the rack out of the shot?

iDJMic
(2:09:49) 9’ ceilings build a mini loft for making more room in the room. But keep a step ladder on hand.

MT Steuerung
(2:11:32) @Eric Likness .. and install all the stuff on a GolfCart to make a 'mobile Studio'

Eric Likness
(2:12:54) @MT Steuerung an inside/outside OB truck đźšš

Andre Yanco
(2:13:01) Q:That looks like a tech hotdog stand :)

iDJMic
(2:13:44) Saw you on Franks live the other day! Good to see you come out (on Facebook).

MotherBee
(2:14:56) Am thorn between mevo and alpha.

Raul Espinosa
(2:15:01) Great show, I always learn something!! Thanks!!

Andre Yanco
(2:16:28) Take care everyone. See you all next week :)
