(49:18) Also, I prefer using SDI even with not long cable runs b/c of the locking connectors and its slighty less latency (useful for IMAG)

(49:26) Q:Fiber HDMI is also finnicky. One twist and you can be done.

(49:46) @Feng Zhu FYI I find Rode RCV and RCP too simple to use and geared told amateurs. Being a geek I want all the controls I can get

(50:09) Fiber HDMI is much thinner than HDMI and easier to handle lol. So nice when flying for gigs

(50:41) Q: I've also used HDBaseT which is HDMI over Cat5E cable which is good in a building that already has loads of network, just not much HDMI or SDI

(51:20) Q: What use cases can you see for Video Follows Audio outside of podcasts and visual radio?

(52:10) For me it's the lack of AUX outs that keeps me away from those little mixers, which is why I use the ATEM SDI EXT. with 4 Aux.

(53:07) yepp, HDMI over Ethernet /CAT was never robust. I tried it so often but FIbre is the solution for today (for me..)

(53:45) You definitely need to buy high quality converters for HDMI over Cat5, don't get the no-name brand ones on Amazon, but I've had great success with conferences in theatres or conference halls

(54:23) If you're using HDBaseT gear, you should be fine. It's usually just the cheaper dummy converters that are problematic.

(54:31) I think NDI is really the solution for video over IP

(58:31) I've used a Roland V-02HD for this kind of setup. It doesn't fill all your requirements (no 3rd output). But I've (ab)used one to do something like this.

(1:23:13) XF605 can be controlled remotely in a bunch of ways including Companion. Not a cheap camera though.

(1:33:48) Thanks. I presumed so. I think this is what Roland refer to as Region-of-Interest switching. Which is kinda cool on their 4K switchers, but out of the budget of most one-man-bands.

(1:34:41) LOL. No. Using the video feed from the PTZ camera that’s tracking the speaker. RCV switches to that feed when the speaker is talking. The voice tracking cam actually follows the person.

(1:35:36) Q: On the Yolobox Ultra could you use a 4K source to get better virtual camera scenes?

(1:38:06) Q: Or do we create the wide angle as another virtual one for HD

(1:45:05) This won't necessarily be a fair comparison, since in both cases, we're cropping a signal. What you really want to compare is an uncropped Full HD to a cropped 4K.
