Sven Lakemeier
(13:29) Q: always wanted to ask - do you match on Q, Q:, q and/or q:?
Bailey Stone
(13:52) I think Blackmagic's thinking is that it won't be turned off/on very frequently, so media pool restoration isn't as important, however I think since they had the capabilities, they should use it
Carl Wikman

(21:11) q: seeing your involvement with oauth and Twitters big part in the development of oauth, is this whole situation painful for you?
Jim Allan
(22:05) Controversial opinion: I love twitter, and will miss it if it implodes.
James Clarke
(22:34) Yea, glad you are going to talk about twitter!
James Clarke
(22:36) Since you are an indiweb pioneer
Nils Braune
(22:38) I've deleted my Twitter account ten years ago and never had any regrets about it.
Rick Cox
(24:57) I don't see twitter "melting down" as much as it's in transition from a very different vision into something that (hopefully) will be a place everyone can enjoy.
BensTechLab
(25:05) I also dont think its "melting down". advertisers pull out due to risk/unknown not because they dont want to support. advertisers are generally not that altruistic.

(26:29) Q: Maybe try MASTODON? Free social network
Zegalles
(34:58) Q you use the federated model for social media
Sven Lakemeier
(35:16) I like my local timeline, and of course that only works when I'm on an instance where others are
Sven Lakemeier
(35:20) And I trust the admins of my instance to inform the users if they decide to shut down, so I can just move to another instance, the posts themselves are ok to vanish for me
James Clarke
(35:55) This is exactly what I want
Grant Butler
(36:01) Q Currently on a mastodon instance and have gone back and forth on staying, moving to a single user instance I host, or doing something custom. Is it difficult to build something like what you have?
Eric Likness
(44:22) Bridgy Fed reminds me of the old days with RSS and FeedBurner.
Eric Likness
(44:41) I know from having watched people setup Mastodon, you need storage (S3 or something similar). Then you get into egress fees.
Darin Land
(45:02) @Eric Likness Maybe the twiiter situation might influence other social media platforms to revisit/invest in RSS technology? Something old is new again... like podcast 2 index/feeds.
Emerald Audiovisual
(45:50) The whole Mastodon story was more thought towards organisations running their own instance.
James Clarke
(47:03) That's awesome thx so much.. did you post a link to the post you shared in the chat?
Graham Rule
(53:20) Thanks for all that info. Not sure how much coding / admin I feel like doing so will stick with mastodon.scot for the moment.

(53:57) They will never get rid of YT it harvests too much user data for them to give it up.
Bailey Stone
(54:09) @Aaron Parecki On the YouTube side of things: look at Kevin, The Basic Film-makers channel - a few years back, it got hacked and was taken down very quickly, and it took a few months to get it back
Adam Taylor
(54:22) Really smart strategy!
anomalily
(54:27) I already restarted!

anomalily

Eric Likness
(1:14:55) Back channel is working π

Bailey Stone
(1:19:30) My cat's get the exact same thing, we didn't take ours to the vet, however it went away in about 1-2 hours, so wasn't very concerned

Vinyl Vinnie
(1:22:16) Q: Has Dora eaten a little blue bird lately?
Emerald Audiovisual
(1:22:25) @Luc Ongena : Lily's Atem is an Extreme, so she has 2 HDMI outs. You can have multiview on both. With a LinkPi ENC1 V2 you would have a HDMI in and out though
Charbax
(1:22:42) Q: What's your bandwidth, is it reliable, is Lily in the same city on same type of internet speed? Have you ever needed to bond multiple carriers (except in your Yolobox hack) to increase reliability?
