K9Stryker
(5:30) Q: I could only find videos from 2020/2021 where you discuss the mapping app you use during the stream countdown. The "I'm From" app is no more, are you still using the one on your github? Thanks!

Bruce Bedell
(11:56) Q: When we connected to the Atem Extreme (not on) to HDMI input 1 and 2 from the bidirectional converters that was on, a fan on extreme would spin-up. But when unplugging just one input
Bruce Bedell
(12:08) Q: the fan would quit. It wouldnāt matter which input you unplugged. Is this normal?
Bruce Bedell
(12:44) Q:yes
Aaron Abernethy
(12:53) Great help, thanks, helped me get my head around the conceptual changes from the ATEM mini.
Aaron Abernethy
(12:58) I would really like the scenes in the RCV to include an option to choose what outputs from the HDMI ports. Plenty of times at conferences I need to playback video to projectors between talks etc.
Paperjace
(13:50) Hey Aaron! do you know of any open source software that I could host on my raspberry pi that could ingest HEVC video via SRT? thanks in advance!
Andre Yanco
(15:04) Q: I have also seen in the past where the BiDirectional Converter would bleed power especially if you use a PD adapter to power it. Strange but possible.
IT Never Gets Old
(15:14) Where does the solar fit into that?
WutrUduin?
(16:04) Q Seen many new names over the past couple of months. How long has it been since you showed ppl how to search your livestreams?
Aaron Abernethy
(18:30) Thanks for the Companion suggestion, Iāll look in to that. Does Companion only work over IP, or would it address the RCV over USB?
Mike Sabatini
(18:50) Q: How powerful of a POE switch is really needed for one Tail 2 and 2 Tail Airs? My switch is 65 watts and I still had random cameras turning black while streaming.

Giovanni S
(22:40) Q: Did Rode ever fix the lack of XML metadata that accompanies ISO file recordings on the RodeCaster Video?
DJ MIKE-L

K9Stryker
(23:10) Q: Can you explain how your countdown timer works? The countdown clock itself. Is it a rendered timer running into your switcher? DSK? USK? Hyperdeck? OBS? Rendered ProRes 10min timer is over 1gb.š¬

(26:10)
Aaron Abernethy
(26:25) Itās seems like XML output of cuts on RCV would be low hanging fruit, but then what type of XML should they create? Would a Resolve XML work with FCP, or Premiere?
Aaron Abernethy
(26:39) Also Iāve no idea what the relationship is like between Rode and Blackmagic now that Rode have started playing in BMās sandpit.
Nils Braune
(27:06) Why are people talking about XML? EDL files aren't XML, right?!
WutrUduin?
(30:10) Q Would any of those webpage graphics work without an internet connection? Say you're recording and live switching a presentation or podcast in a location without internet.
Tech Condo
(31:19) Q Aaron did you check Open Media Transport? Open source equivalant to NDI. Search for omt . video for the link. I really believe this is valueable for the community (3rd try)
Aidan Comi
(31:42) Q: Speaking of web graphics, have you tested the web graphics in the OSEE GoStream Duet 8?
IT Never Gets Old
(33:36) Are you using the Duet or the Duet 8 ISO?
WutrUduin?
(37:06) New idea: An arm clamped to the shelf with a magnetic plate to attach the iPad to.
IT Never Gets Old
(37:45) Q: Do web browser sources work in the media player of the standard Duet as well?
WutrUduin?
(38:45) Is the black chat BG more transparent than on the ATEM?
Davinci Girl
(39:49) I like this web world and I run 4 servers just for the davinci resolve audio group. will be fine if you bring it to public
Davinci Girl
(39:57) So a dedicate server in a it centre is not a real problem.
Davinci Girl
(40:00) a main thing, because the Blackmagic cloud is just to much expensive and I would not like to waste much time in their cloud
IT Never Gets Old
(40:24) The bang for the buck on the OSEE switchers are really high
WutrUduin?
(40:26) ATEM KEY
IT Never Gets Old
(40:31) The bang for the buck on the OSEE switchers are really high
Mike Merrill
(41:04) i want to see the temp chart again from the server room!
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(44:30) I do like Black Magic cloud for editing Resolve. For what you get it is pretty cheap and works great when working with an editor.
Davinci Girl
(44:55) there are no German or Romanian subtitles in yours stream so I have to review yours answer later... my English is just 10 words not more
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(46:09) I would if you could create an AI bot that would watch the stream and translate it real time.
Andre Yanco
(49:09) Q:Wow you need to tidy up Aaron š¤£
Andre Yanco
(49:35) Q:Audio sometimes cutting out
Mike Merrill
(49:45) ā TEST IT. UNPLUG! ha ha
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(50:08) every streamer's off camera setup looks just as messy
Andre Yanco
(50:12) Q:New stream: Help me replug my server room :)
T.I.M. The Visualante
(50:26) How about tagging and Label too?
Robert Gibson
(50:32) Live on the Edgfe
Mike Merrill
(51:54) It's working!!!
Andre Yanco
(52:25) Q:Is there still a UPS connected to this ?
Eric Likness
(53:02) I haven't seen a plug pull LIVE in a long, long time. š
Grish
(53:19) Q: is that a lithium backup? Do you discharge it every so often to maintain battery health?
Andre Yanco
(53:51) Q: Interesting that the switch delay does not mess up your power for computers, etc.
Nils Braune
(54:18) Last "emergency test" was back in like 2022.
Eric Likness
(54:23) I feel like APC should be worried.
Andre Yanco
(54:27) Q:What is the model?
Aaron Abernethy
(55:00) Is that new UNAS Pro 4 disk unit I see?
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(55:34) impressive that it is 120 minutes with everything that is plugged into it
Nils Braune
(55:41) But these big batteries don't tell the servers to power down, right?
Grish
(56:15) Itās pretty speedy. Honestly would rather have good old lead acid UPS. Cheaper to swap out the battery at a local supply store every 3 years
Andre Yanco
(56:33) Q:Servers next to a water heater, I remember this discussion from years ago.
Aidan Comi
(56:49) That's what a lot of people use NUT (Network UPS Tools) for
Omur Ozcan
(56:59) It has not been a power outage for 15 years here, but it should be used for precautions. It was a nice device DJI. I like it.
Aaron Abernethy
(57:53) Yeah I was going to say I use NUT on my Unraid to tell the other servers to shut down.
Eric Likness
(57:57) I was able to get NUT setup. And I "think" it's working as intended.

(58:05) Q: atem software control v10 is out and it changes the settings window for shadow bus but all greyed out on my 2 M/E Constellation. Also on your 4 M/E?
WutrUduin?
(59:34) Frequent brownouts killed my EcoFlow. Since it died, there's been one outage over the last 2 years.
Eric Likness
(1:00:07) But I want to do a power plug pull and see how it survives.
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(1:03:45) I have unfortunately done the pull the plug test several times this summer with the massive dust storms, monsoons, and lightning storms in Arizona
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(1:03:59) I haven't heard synology was locking it down to their brand drives. That is a huge mistake on their part.
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(1:04:04) The synology computer backup and recover was amazing when I reinstall Windows and had 700 gigs restored within a few hours.
Aidan Comi
(1:04:13) Q: Do you think OSEE could have a market for a simple web graphics device? It would basically be competing with a Raspberry Pi unless it had SDI key/fill
Giovanni S
(1:05:46) Can you have a cold drive that auto-configures if there is a drive failure?
Eric Likness
(1:07:37) Make sure your backups are on different devices (not just different folders on the SAME device).
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(1:08:10) does the Unas provide software that will backup/restore computers on the network?
Omur Ozcan
(1:09:01) Q:I want to take the HDMI output of the camera, convert it to an NDI stream via a device, and send it to a video switch on a wireless network. Is there a device that can do this? What about zowiebox?
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(1:11:02) since you are backing up to your Synology, the Synology Active Backup is fantastic for keeping multiple versions of files and restoring an older version if needed.
IT Never Gets Old
(1:11:32) I wish Magewell would update the ProConverts to support the newer NDI formats... Zowiebox does support NDI and various flavors of NDI compression
Giovanni S
(1:11:45) Weird that BMD does yet make such a converter.
BowlsPromoTV
(1:13:42) Wow, that Magewell is over a thousand bucks
Mediarexx Connexxion
(1:13:49) I had one of those!
Razorbaby Media Creation
(1:14:01) Princess phone?
BowlsPromoTV
(1:14:27) Australia
Davinci Girl
(1:14:35) Blackmagic makes a lots of mistakes in my mind... they should put out the audio they did try to integrate. AND FAIRLIGHT USE AS STANDALLONE.
Mediarexx Connexxion
(1:15:08) In the college dorms (early 80s), we only had rotary phonesā¦
Eric Likness
(1:17:32) Hub yes, dumb hub. It's like a giant splitter.
Giovanni S
(1:17:38) POTS service is still 300-3000Hz frequency range?
Eric Likness
(1:18:41) With a little programming you could generate the "control tones" like the Phone phreaking of yesteryear
Andre Yanco
(1:19:28) Q: Then there were those Coax cable networks with terminators
Razorbaby Media Creation
(1:19:39) Phone= Excellent Idea and great sound!
Dansplaining Video
(1:22:36) I once built a touch tone decoder using an arduino
Nils Braune
(1:22:43) I like that 100 Mbps is "Fast Ethernet".
BowlsPromoTV
(1:22:49) You can use the tone device to confuse a telemarketer. āI have to go, sorry, seems like a crossed lineā š¤£
Omur Ozcan
(1:22:59) How about your hot line project? Leaving voice message for support (remembered when I saw the phone)
Eric Likness
(1:24:37) Your demo of the PBX works better than Mark Zuckerberg's demo of the Meta Glasses.
Aidan Comi
(1:24:42) OBS has a plugin for it, but I know that would be a bit tough to get audio to
Alexandre Linhares
(1:25:36) Do you know when is the atem mini extrem gen2 coming?
IT Never Gets Old
(1:26:11) You could just fake it... most of us do not read "waveform"
Let Your Nerd Be Heard
(1:26:27) I find VIBE coding tough as a software dev to get something good from it compared to my non-dev friends output from it.
Razorbaby Media Creation
(1:29:30) But Why Aaron?
Nils Braune
(1:29:40) @Razorbaby Media Creation As a Discord member you can find out for yourself.
IT Never Gets Old
(1:30:32) Bezier curves are probably needed for the S
BowlsPromoTV
(1:30:51) Secret squirrel stuff
Eric Likness
(1:31:09) OBS and a PBX interface would be cool.
IT Never Gets Old
