(16:05) Q: Have you tested the ATEM Extreme ISO G2? There is a weird behaviour where the HDMI out 2 and 3 Mirror each other under fps lower than 50fps instead of being individual assignable

(20:10) It was very glitchy as a viewer. I think the down detector spike was the viewers reporting it

(20:18) We saw some frozen frames, lagging video, no audio, etc. while it was happening.

(20:26) At one point during the glitches they switched to you and you were standing there silent and confused

(21:40) @aaronpk That crash had more repercussions, it seems. Audio was crackly and they seemed to have some sort of auto-unmute that didn't work properly anymore.

(26:34) I have had some home-burned CDs degrate. The rewriteable ones have been very unreliable.

(27:14) First, they made us abandon records and switch to cassettes. Then came CDs, then DVDs. Then they offered MP3s as the highest quality music. Now they've put records and record players back on sale

(41:49) Problem with vdo is if you have too many guests and it’s peer to peer instead of sfu, the bandwidth requirements are exponential

(42:23) One issue with not Zoom is that non technical guests can get confused by a different interface

(42:52) Q: is there an option in zoom were the teacher can see all the students but the students cannot see each other

(43:48) I wonder if Facetime would work as a backup? Obviously not ideal, but it's another interface non tech folks probably understand

(44:29) In Zoom, could you put every student in an individual room, which the teacher can address en masse?

(46:31) Q: I will stream an event to Zoom and YouTube. A speaker will join via Zoom. I need to avoid resending the video from Zoom to back. I can solve with 2nd laptop. Should I use the Atem Extreme or RCV?

(1:06:51) One reason I like Ecamm is that you can similarly set mics per scene. Really useful for small shows w/o a dedicated sound person. Probably you can do simliar with OBS?

(1:15:50) I like to think of avoiding reflections like a biliards bank shot that you want to miss (cue = light, bank = reflective surface, hole = lens)

(1:16:05) Q: I have a black screen on my atem mini pro when I select my pc. atem connected usb to pc. PC hdmi to hdmi 1 on atrm mini pro, set to 1080/60 . it shows on the SEETEC 15 inch monitor though.

(1:17:56) @GwenPark That is my concern. But I'll just have the webcam and capture (of the slides) and one mic. They don't expect anything fancy.

(1:18:22) @AirportStreams The slides and audio are more important than the view of the lecturer. I know one organisation that copes with a wide view from the back of the room!

(1:31:41) Q: the hdmi splitter you mentioned, do I split from the hdmi 1(pc) to pc, or from pc in to hdmi 1. (1 to 2 connect in or out direction)

(1:39:10) I've been happy with my August/Yale locks with the Home Assistant Yale bluetooth integration, but it has compromises

(1:43:47) CISA makes good electrically actuated locks that can be used with any access system

(1:43:52) That's how doors work in Germany. Outside needs a key as it has a fixed knob, inside just opens like a internal door with a handle.

(1:45:22) On my home front door there is contact sensor. You have to turn the deadbolt to get out, but once the door closes Smartthings tells the deadbolt to lock.
